This is a prime example of why our legal system sucks. There should have been a verdict for the defense. NOBODY deserves/needs this kind of money and some scumbag attorney just made $30M+. This isn’t punishing the tobacco firm, it’s encouraging the survivors of the irresponsible dolts who were too stupid and weak to stop smoking in spite of all the health warnings. Anyone who smokes for any length of time should not be able to sue the manufacturer. Nobody forced you to smoke. The poeple who are suing the manufacturer have been smoking for more that thirty years.
