That is crazy! I wouldn’t give those people a dime…They all KNEW and still know that it’s bad for you. Do you see folks suing the alcohol companies because they have liver damage or alcoholics… UM NO! Common Sense people!!!!!

This is a prime example of why our legal system sucks. There should have been a verdict for the defense. NOBODY deserves/needs this kind of money and some scumbag attorney just made $30M+. This isn’t punishing the tobacco firm, it’s encouraging the survivors of the irresponsible dolts who were too stupid and weak to stop smoking in spite of all the health warnings. This is a free country and people need to take personal responsibility for their choices. This is pure nonsense. Courts are too liberal with other people’s money.

Anyone who smokes for any length of time should not be able to sue the manufacturer. Nobody forced you to smoke. The poeple who are suing the manufacturer have been smoking for more that thirty years.

THE TOBACCO COMPANY SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE BECAUSE THE CHEMICALS ARE ADDICTING. BUT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. USE THE ELECTRONIC CIGARETTE NOT AS HARMFUL AS CIGARETTES.
    GO TO http://WWW.MYINLIFE.COM/GOMEZ
CHECK THE ELECTRONIC CIGARETTE OUT $2.50 A CARTRIDGE THAT EQUALS A PACK OF CIGARETTES.

Go ahead, ban smoking! Ban alcohol! Ban fast food! Ban high sodium foods! Ban Soda! Ban Sex! Ban gambling!(including state loto’s)

All can be dangerous if you become addicted to it. WE NEED A COMMON SINCE APPROACH NOT A REDISTRIBUTION OF WEALTH, PENALIZE THE RICH WHO PROFIT OFF OUR ADDICTION APPROACH TO OUR LEGAL SYSTEM.

Let’s make it illegal to be ingorant, stupid, and irresponsbile. That will put an end to 90% of the nonsense. If we could somehow get judges that have the stones to exercise some common sense we’d eliminate the other 10%.

When will it come to pass that you can’t have it both ways? people scream for the “right” to smoke full well knowing the possible side effects, but then low and behold those side effects happen, sue the manufacturer because the bad thing happened???? apparently this proves that you can have your cake and eat it too.
