Journalists, Bloggers Watching Libel Case Involving Staples’ E-mail

    If this case is decided in favor of Alan Noonan, I think more than journalists and bloggers are going to be affected.

    For example, how are health companies/agencies going to proceed when trying to follow HIPAA? In order for companies/agencies to follow HIPAA they must educate their employees and they MUST be allowed to monitor their employees. If an employee becomes a habitual HIPAA violator, gets laid off/fired, is it malice to notify the next employer? Is it malice to let employees know an ex-employee is laid off/fired for a HIPAA violation? Is it malice for co-workers to report possible HIPAA violations?
