Churches need to start a new “ministry”….the “ministry of defense”. You get your ushers trained and qualified to carry weapons, then you get them some tactical training on how to shoot to kill. I’d arm the priest too but that would be bad press if they blew somebody’s brains out.

There should be no negotiation with any nut case who enters a church with a weapon. In the alternative, they could hire off duty cops. They pay for organists, why not security?

In my opinion, absolutely correct Dread. Not necessarily the opinion of the firm I work for though. Insurers tend to be “gun averse” when it comes to business owners. I work for an insurer of churches and many accounts have a uniformed law enforcement officer direct traffic around the facility before and after the service. How about have this individual within the building or sanctuary during the service in the event someone has a “God made me do it” moment? Some do but most do NOT.

Anyone else have good resources regarding church security?
