How about a little help down in Galveston, TX? Remember Ike??

Why hasn’t FEMA helped with assistance to a nationally recognized medical school that has been forced to close down?

    I guess because we didn’t scream & holler & blame everyone else….

What about IKE is right! Here Galveston (and the surrounding areas) is tied to the 4th largest city in our great nation and they have been treated like they are pond scum. Maybe Texans have a little more integrity and did not abuse the system like other hurricane victims have in the past. We got out there and did our own clean up. We did and are doing it ourselves if you talk with those involved. I agree with Texan, what about UTMB – why won’t the government help them out. Are we being punished because of the “differences” in the area of the disaster?
Hey Mr President and your wonderful staff -we could use some help here and FEMA should be wiped out with AIG and a new office should be hired – a federal office that will actually help the people and listen to what the real needs are instead of what they think they are.
There’s just not enough room or time to go off on this subject.

Ike victims are reaping the benefits of a much more lax insurance structure, loosened up by the multiple storms of 2005. Carriers are paying non-covered losses & overpaying covered loses rather than incurring defense costs. The litigation is very costly and widespread from 2005. Remember, if it is payment of non covered losses or overpayment of covered losses, it can be used to solicit a rate increase whereas defense costs cannot.
