Another victory for plaintiff attorneys who continue to contribute to the DEMS so they can block tort reform. Why were the makers of cigarettes forced to put warning labels on their products over 40 years ago. Way to go jerk judges!

I think a cartoon type sledge hammer should come out of each pack as it is opened to remind smokers of the danger. Seems a reasonable precaution to me. Warnings all over the pack and advertising aren’t enough to control the personal bad habits of smokers.

well, we don’t control how long an individual puffs on a cigarette. how would you measure someone’s puff to another and have a level is the bar for standard puff? so in reality, it’s not fraud. label still lists that smoking is dangerous for your health. either way you smoke it, it can still cause cancer. it’s just another way for these lawyers to make money whether they win or lose. i think that the lawyers should start paying us back for taking on stupid cases. this might stop most of these frivilous lawsuirts.

Amen Wudchuck. If every lawsuit had a clause stating: “If you loose, you must pay either court costs, 5% of fee, or something.” There would be a LOT less frivolous lawsuits and a lot less taxpayer money wasted!!

Where I live right now it is -3 outside, and yet there are idiots standing outside our building so they can suck down this crap.

I did the same thing for 25 years and was able to quit. Ok, so I am a little slow, but I really didn’t give a crap that they would kill me. Never thought it was the cigarette companies’ problem, they were merely supplying a product to meet my addiction.

Obviously, I am out of touch with the “the world owes me” generation that exists now.

You’ve got to be kidding me! There is still someone in this world who doesn’t know that cigarette smoking kills? I didn’t think it was possible… are they living under a rock? I read somewhere that cigarettes are the only consumer product on the market today proven to cause death… yet it continues to be legal. Think about it. If there were another consumer product on the market that caused the number of deaths that cigarettes do… it would be pulled from the market by CPSC so fast our heads would spin.

just because something is “light” doesn’t mean it’s ok. News Flash: “Light” Spam still tastes like crap, “Light” Pork Rinds aren’t particularly good for you, “Light” beer will still get you drunk (it’ll just make you pee a lot more), and a “light” bullet will still kill you.

So for anyone who’s still stupid enough to think “light” cigarettes won’t cause cancer, smoke ’em if you got ’em!

News Flash is right – you know, the individual has a choice to “light” up or not, dumb are those that light up and even dumber is the Supreme Court allowing this to go any further. You can say NO – I was stupid for 35ys+ but quite 16ys ago and have never looked back – went cold turkey, I wanted to be in control of my own life not let cigarettes rule! It is a matter of “life” and “breathe” – get real please!
