Seems a little self-serving to me… a company trying to sell the same product as the industry they criticize, but of course they are the only ones that know how to do it correctly.
The part I like is they are “partnered” with OSHO – designed to sound alot like the governmental agency OSHA?
Oh, well.
whether employer awareness of the operations of their NON-workers’ comp TPA/MCOs is comparable to the trends and statistics reported in this study? In our state, non-workers’ comp TPAs are regulated by the Insurance Department. The entities that manage self-insured workers’ comp programs fall under the jurisdiction of the Workers’ Compensation agency. I am interested in learning more about what self-insured employers know about their TPA’s who administer their employee benefit plans. Anybody have any information or links on this topic?? Thanks!
Wes, your ignorance is so disturbing, I have to reply. It is obvious that you do know anything about which you comment.
1. the consulting firm does not sell the same service as those companies, such as Genex, that review/process/reprice work comp med bills. 2. OSHO is not a shadowy organization that is trying to sound like OSHA so as to confuse the unwary. It only confuses people who don’t know anything about work comp and workplace safety…here is the magazine’s website. Check it out. You’ll maybe learn something: Occupational Health and Safety Group magazine http://ohsonline.com/Home.aspx
I sold TPA services for three years and this articel is bunch of horsecrap! My whole presentation was based on pricing on the backend, ie, medical bill review and cost containment. That’s how you sell a self insured on your TPA. Better cost savings and network access than your competitors and their incumbent TPA! Everyone I ever sold to knew EXACTLY what their costs were. My hunch is this survey is a rigged piece of crap.
