Maybe if someone could teach these animals to read, they would only cross at the deer crossing signs. Otherwise fine them for jaywalking.

I say ignore these statistics completely. If 65% of those involved were simply stupid idiots who elected not to use the safety devices that could have saved their pathetic lives, nobody should care. After all, they didn’t care enough about themselves to use available protection. The Darwin theory is still valid.

Dread’s right – Who gives a flip about someone who completely ignores the safety tools that have been provided to them to minimize (notice I didn’t use the word “prevent”) injury?

The insurance companies who have to pay for their supidity…

I say there should be a clause in everyone’s policy – If you are not wearing life safety equipment made available to you by the manufacturer(ie. seatbelts…) or as protection against accident or injury inherent to the use of a vehicle (ie. helmets) and you are injured in an accident – payment, or award will be significantly reduced to make up for your stupidity…

Of course, we’d have a better chance of getting a snow cone in $U#*(

I wonder how many of these are REALLY cell-phone or dropped-cigarette related, outside of the event-fall relationship.. It’s been stated that the majority of accidents do not involve actually colliding with the deer. But, a deer would make a great scapegoat..
