EVERY State should have laws against this – Not only does it criple the victim of the crime – but the insurance industry is taking a beating from these low lives.

Metal dealers around the country should be MANDATED to check photo ID – record the names addresses and if the articles are brought in by a vehicle, include the license plate numbers of everyone that walks onto their premises – under penelty of being convicited of receiving stolen property

This country is going to &$#@*() in a hand basket – How low will people go

I feel the scrap dealers are just as responsible.
Whether they are mandated to record identification or not is not the issue.
When someone shows up with peices of metal that are obvioulsy from a historical marker or landmark plaque the dealer should notify authorities.
Instead like with everything else economic these days, greed kicks in and the dealer says “what the hell”, here’s your cash Johnny!
Then Johnny thinks, “cool, since nobody cares, I will steal another one of those plague thingies.”
