As for the glaciers, since they are on land, if they melted into the ocean they would increase the volume of the ocean.
    ____________
Yes, now youve got it, see I told you it was simple.

    1. Admit you were wrong about the northern ice cap.

    2. No glacier is melting due to anthropocentric global warming so it isn’t anything to worry about.

Barry Hussein Obama will figure out who drank all that ocean water. Blame Bush for global warming and the war too. Bush sends the ocean water to the Arabs for their swimming pools.

ya uh you guys ever make ice cubes in your freezers at home? You put some water into a tray, usually up to the limit line. Then it freezes and becomes ice cubes. But wait, what’s this? The ice cubes have expanded up and over the limit lines? They’re protruding from the tray! Aaaah stop protruding!

So does this mean that when the ice caps melt, the resultant water will displace LESS area than the frozen ice?

The ice cap floats on top of the ocean so it does not displace water like ice cubes in a glass.

As for no reduction in its size….

Arctic ice-cap loss twice the size of France: research
    Jan 23, 2008

PARIS (AFP) — The Arctic ice cap has shrunk by an area twice the size of France’s land mass over the last two years, the Paris-based National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) said Wednesday.

“The year 2008 promises to be a critical year on every level,” said Jean-Claude Gascard, the body’s research director and coordinator of European scientific mission Damocles, which is monitoring the effects of climate change across the Arctic.

September 2007 measurements show ice covering 4.13 million square kilometres (1.6 million square miles), down from 5.3 million square kilometres in 2005.

“Melting could result in the loss of another million in one (2008) summer,” he added at a press conference.

“Summer 2007 was marked by a major retreat in the ice-cap, one we were not anticipating,” Gascard said. “The rate of decline is also two or three times faster than (observed) beforehand.”

International models used to predict retreating ice have some “catching-up” to do, he said.

Over the last 20 years, 40 percent of the ice-cap has melted with the average thickness halved from three to 1.5 metres.

Year-round ice coverage has reduced, with summer melting also lasting longer, the centre reported.

Hussein oughta choose F. Castro as his VP so he could advise him on all the best methods to employ to destroy the US should he be elected.

“So does this mean that when the ice caps melt, the resultant water will displace LESS area than the frozen ice?”

Displacement is related to weight. Here’s a scientific experiment for you to perform when you get home. Be sure to wear proper protective equipment.

Put some ice cubes in a glass. Fill the glass with water. Notice that when the ice melts the glass did not overflow.

    Sheesh.

But who is Hussein? Im not familiar with this? There is no one by that name running for president.

Also, hasnt McKain gone on record as admitting to global warming.

    You seem confused.
