    You must be kidding??!! HO insurance here in New Orleans suburbs used to run $1800 a year. Post Katrina – $5500 a year – and that is with a $1000 ded. and a 2-3% hurricane deductible. If you can get it. Most carriers have excluded wind and hail losses and you must secure from the “insurer of last resort” for a Dwg. 1 policy. ACV only. Housenotes have increased by hundreds a month, just to cover the insurance escrow. Flood is a bargain compared to the HO coverages.
