I am all for the limits on frivilous suits but MR Bush with all due respect you have all the money in the world at your disposal so you don’t have to worry about being injured permanantly for life and having to pay for care the remaining years of your life.
I voted for you and at this point am not proud of it.
You are siding with large Corporations again and all they do is steal from the consumers through what they call (doing business).
Your proposal is proposterous and it will hopefully be knocked down in the house but I have little faith this will occur as they have similar financial status’ like you.
My proposal to you is to cut the pay of every member that is employed within every government branch.Take away their perks and really stick it to them when the break the laws.
Our government is one of the most corrupt in the world and we accuse others of being corrupt.
Maybe you should look into the operations of our own government for once!

When in fact many Americans do not want to take responsiblity for their own actions or stupidy.. SUE, SUE and SUE…
Of course there MIGHT be a slight downside but maybe this will run off the Soculove’s of the world chasing ambulances at every turn..
I as you might be able to tell am not a friend of trial lawyers that sue, bribe judges, etc to line their slimy pockets..
Even those that screw up, take a pill without reading the label or use the drug to commit suicide…Then SUE??? Give me a break!

Nice to see such an even-handed, unbiased report from the AP. No mention of the FACT that the intent of these reforms are to curtail frivolous suits that tie up the court from real negligence, not consumer error.

Documents just handed to me show President Bush is in collusion with big business to put hard working Americans out of work.

In an interview with the American Bar Association, “President Bush is further putting people out of jobs and increasing the number of housing foreclosures by limiting lawsuits and putting honest lawyers out of work.”

For futher information, tune into the CBS Nightly News with, ah, what’s her name or watch CN, what’s the other initial…

    Haha.

Mr. Rather, I believe the documents you are sourcing may have been improperly vetted by some underlings. We will require you to take all the blame for what you read off the teleprompter and quit.

We used to hear all the fear talk from the Republic(an)s that those darn Democrats would redistribute wealth from the middle class to the poor. Well, now we know the Republic(an)s are much better at redistributing wealth from the middle class and the lower class to…ta da!.. the upper class–and providing all sorts of rules–such as the ones in the article to make the playing field as unlevel as possible.

The last eight years of Republic(an) and oil company rule have been about bullying and commercial theft through government means, whether through the filthy oil war in Iraq, signing statements on laws, torture being declared legal, non-enforcement of laws, selective prosecution by a corrupted Justice department or placing industry moles, provocateurs and out and out crooks in regulatory positions–plain and simple theft by government power.

When will we ever learn? Within months, a president McCain would be a doddering puppet figure, much like our current mouthpiece for oil and Cheney, our fine president Bush. I say who cares who is president–Cheney, VP for life!

Oh, yeah, Republic(an)for the benefit of Rush and Bush who continue to mispronounce Democratic like the ignorant people they are. 700,000 civilians dead in Iraq? Heck, just collateral damage that’s gotten a little outta hand…

Republicans–a bunch of godless, money-grubbing materialists wrapping themselves in God and the flag. What a bunch of crazy hoaxsters already!

Where, in the Constitution, does the Federal Govt have the right and the responsibility to impose this power? I guess we’ll just have to wait for the whole thing to collapse and start all over again. With a little luck, maybe we can banish the Marxists to Calif & New England.

This is laughable since the Rockafeller fortune was made in oil. How much does uncle Ted Kennedy have in oil? This is not just a Republican thing though you would like to cover up this facts.

Speaking of facts, your “dirty war for oil” is another laugher. Iraq supplies us with less than 1% of our total oil import. Don’t you think that if we truely went to war for oil, we would take more than 1%? Another disturbing fact that annoys you liberals is that we get over 30% of our oil from Mexico and Canada.

Republicans understand that big companies are the reason that most of America can pay thier bills and drive nice cars, even though you get all of your money from welfare, that is still being funded by big business….

My information is correct, just ask any lawyer who can no longer to maintain their primary house in the New Jersey suburbs, who can no longer afford to keep their penthouse for thier mistress in the City or thier summer home in Florida.

It is getting so bad that some lawyers are trading in thier Jaguars for Lexus. This crisis is spinning out of control and will only get worse.

Some lawyers are forced to fly coach because they can not afford business class.

I am familiar with complaints about activist judges, now we have to contend with activist bureaucrats. Can’t say that I am a fan of either one.
Both seem to flout the will of the people and the Constitutional separation of powers.
