Current technologies and ability to identify, track, and forecast the path of hurricanes is totally adequate. No enhancements are needed and will add no value to the process. This is pork barrel spending at its best to keep some eggheads happy going through their mental masturbation exercises and playing with meteorological data. The simple and best thing people in affected areas can do is have a plan to protect their property as best they can, and get the hell out of Dodge when landfall is imminent.

Well said. Does it matter how sharp a tiger’s teeth are before it tears your arm off?
