$400???? – I just may have to do that. I have a 2006 Jeep and my annual premium with full coverage is $2200. a year & I live 30 minutes North of Manhattan. Nebraska sounds like the place to insure cars!
I am paying an average of $539 annually for each of my three cars, ’97 Acura, ’03 Jeep Grand Cherokee and ’03 MINI Cooper. Don’t assume that all of New York is that expensive. As someone pointed out, upstaters, like myself, help the averages.

I wish I only paid $821.00 a yr to insure my vehicle. Are they sure they included the New York Tri-State area in that survey?
For once the upstaters skew the results in their favor…
Need to move to the midwest I pay only $400 a year in Nebraska.

AS AN AGENT LET ME TELL YOU THERE ARE SO MANY FACTORS GOING INTO RATES THAT IT’LL MAKE YOU HEAD SPIN. NOT AS EASY AS 1-2-3 ANYMORE.
What states comprise the $821? Certainly not NJ, unless you’re insuring a “clunker” for liability only.
When I am elected your President. This is one of then things I will look to CHANGE. And that is CHANGE for the better
Hey Tom Greco:
It’s $400 because you can’t do much damage running into a hay bale. What else is there to run into in Nebraska?

Reason it is so inexpensive in Nebraska is that the lawyer to people ratio is probably 1/500 vs. NY at 2 to 1.
