“At Ford, Quality is Job 1”. Sound familiar? Apparently nothing’s changed in terms of quality control on components. Repairing something a second time smacks of poor quality, poor management, and poor design. This is precisely why so many people prefer foreign engineered cars to the Big 3. Think about this. At one hour per recall service time at $90/hr which is about what a dealer charges, Ford just pissed away $20,000,000 excluding parts. This is on top of what it previously spent to replace entire wiring harnesses. Think of how affordable and competitive american car prices would be if we didn’t get raped by having to pay $8,000 per vehicle towards retiree lifetime benefits and recalling vehicles multiple times?
