How about he repay all the 2.6 and a 1 1/2 times that amount as a fine? In addition, they do have geriatric prisons that he could have and should have been sentenced to. That would have been the best example to set. No matter what your age, you do the time for the crime.
Also how about 2 years of pro bono work in lieu of probation. Bet that would hurt him where his lives… in his bank account.
Had a lawyer tell me once and while pointing at his chest. He said do you know what we think, as attorneys, what the definition of Justice is? I asked what it meant to lawyers and he said it means,,,,
Until lawyers polices themselves, this will continue. I think he should have been locked up in spite of his advanced age so as to send a message to others. We just keep slapping them on the wrist.
All of 6 months at home for this corrupt “officer of the court” as a penalty for fraud? I don’t care if he is 80 years old. He obviously didn’t care when he intentionally screwed people out of $2.6M. At his age, he probably stays home anyway so there really is no punishment. This judge is a disgrace to the system as much as his old croney. In essence, his “sentence” amounted to a “shame on you” slap on the wrist. I doubt this was the first scheme this creep was involved in……only the first one he was caught in. Bottom line: he lived to be a ripe old age and probably lived very well on other peoples money. Now that he’s near death he has nothing to lose.
Hmmm. This scumbag got $2.6 Million, had to pay back $1.5 Million, and was fined $600k and given a slap on the wrist. Seems to me he netted out $500k. It will take me nearly the rest of my career to make that much money (consider how insurance companies pay). Wonder how I can get in on the paying end of one of these scams???? Heck, I’d even do a little prison time (Federal, of course) if I had that kind of money waiting for me on the outside.
Another prime example of legalized extortion of the system. He should live the rest of his “short” life behind bars in a 5 x 8 cell with a thin roll-up mattress.
If it wasn’t for insurance companies; individuals like this would of starved as an attorney. Let him rot in Hell!
Agree with all prior – Judge could have and should have at least made him wear an ankle shackel “as a reminder” – but the one I am waiting for is the sentence for Bill Learach (he of the fright wig hair) – that one will be telling as to how the Legal system treats their own
What the article misses is that Lazar (Swifty?) was wearing a Tennis sweater. That is why the judge called out ‘Good Luck’, he had three sets scheduled for right after the hearing. Frail my eye!

Patriot,
What??!! No racial epithets this time?
“Good luck to you,” the judge replied.
What the hell is that!!
Looks like he had plenty of luck.
What about the tax evasion charges??
