The Oracle of Omaha can’t get caught – he saw them coming. Surely his alibi is Ted Kennedy tight!

    Poor Greenburg …

In a few hours Hillary will have nothing to do. She can testify for her old friend personally and maybe shed a few tears for him.

problem i have with all the previous statements is you have not read about warren and his company holdings. if you think that all men that are rich only get rich by doing something crooked, then you need to look at yourself in the mirror and see if you got ahead somewhere by doing the same thing. do you think that all these billionaires are crooks? you can’t make a generalized statement without any facts. again, you can associate hillary with the oracle either, for she is of her own free will.

take time to understand the facts of the people involved before you blindly make statements. afterall, if you see what the prosecutors are doing, they have not found any evidence to link Buffet to the others – they are not charging him with a crime.

Whenever some rich creep says I need to be paying more taxes there is nothing else for me to understand. Howcome the extremely rich have no problem telling me how much of my income I am entitled to keep?

Agree with you wudchuck. I have nothing but respect for Warren Buffet. while he and Bill Gates are obscenly rich, they are not just spending their wealth on themselves. Their philanthropy is just as extreme; noblese oblige is not ignore by all. Its the noveau riche who want to keep the rest of us poor, by using tax shelters and accounting scams to keep themselves from paying a little more, once they get a taste of the good life, they don’t want to share!

Since the 60’s reinsurers & Large companies have managed their annual results by trading in these transactions

    I dont see any crime

also no way Buffett did not know of transaction any one that delt with gen Re during this time knows that Buffett and his senior guy at bershire Re approved all big deals like this

OK he did not see the final details but he knew the basics

Also you notice none of the feds want any part of Hank

did not the new Gov of NY say he was going to……….. Hank Greenberg

Mr Greenberg & Ronald Ferguson did not commit any crime

Why is the insurance dept of NY not doing anything?

If any of you have studied Berkshire Hathaway or Mr. Buffett, you would realize that the success of his enterprise exists because of his hands off attitude towards his holdings. He buys good companies and trusts their management to run them. I have heard that his managers get a single piece of correspondance from him each year.

Actually, Buffet said he paid a lower percentage of taxes on his income than the percentage his secretary paid on hers (even though she is clearly in a lower tax bracket than him), and he thought that was ludicris.

well, i work for one of the companies w/in berkshire hathaway…he helps chooses his companies well. he understands the shape of the companies he purchases. he finds ways to help them look a different direction to increase their profits, but in most cases, it is a hands-off policy. he does like to see his little ones (companies do well and grow). i also have stock in the parent company as well. so i truly see both ends of the window.
