Zurich Adds 100 Small Business Workers’ Comp Classifications

November 28, 2007

Zurich North America announced it has added 100 monoline workers’ comp business classifications to its coverage offerings. Most of the new classes are for light manufacturing, wholesale and service company risks.

The new classifications for light manufacturing encompass clothing, food, plastic goods, electrical apparatus, printed circuit boards and instruments categories. These 100 new classifications build on Zurich’s December 2006 launch of additional workers’ comp segments for restaurants (family operated and fine dining) and light auto repair (lube shops and tune-up operations). In the coming months through 2008, the company will utilize add more complex classes for small business workers’ comp.

“We are dedicated to serving small business policyholders and providing distributors with additional, meaningful offerings for that marketplace,” said Rick Law, head of Zurich’s Small Business unit. “We are utilizing our industry knowledge, underwriting capabilities, systems and technology to help ensure our small business policyholders have access to Zurich products, services and strengths that are comparable to those we offer our largest corporate customers.”
