Anyone remember the days of the dedictated salvage/subro adjuster that would have had a handle on this? I believe those positions were eliminated as a “cost saving” measure.
When you have younger and younger claims adjusters with little to no experience and a manager that tells them to close claims quickly, it is easy to see how a check is written without trying to mitigate the loss.

And those managers are not much older or experienced than the adjusters. Appears the “know everything” generation doesn’t.
