Hey here’s a novel idea. Make the toys in America, Charge more, but put right on the label Made in America,

Either that or have Laurel & Hardy make the toys in Toyland

Who are they kidding? Their business has been irreparably damaged by them falling asleep at the safety wheel. “Mattel” used to be the gold standard in toys in this country. This debacle wasn’t confined to one product line. It’s massive. Some senior execs at Mattel should be fired. Others should receive no compensation until revenues are restored to pre-recall levels. Unfortunately, the greed machine doesn’t work that way. It will be business as usual and everybody will get their ususal compensation in spite of their collective failure. Parents have lost faith in Mattel and I’d bet the proverbial “fat woman” is tuning up.

With Billions in sales and multi-Millions in net income, they still make more off of the people that buy toys than those people will see in many lifetimes. I don’t feel too sorry for them at all. Jack is right, Mattel used to be the gold standard. The times, they are a-changin’.
