Are they adjusters or are they clerical support? THe headlines states they are adjusters which would be a professional. But the article itself states they are clerical support, which would classify them as not professional. Yes, pun intended as all of you who have to rely on iadequate support staff can appreciate.

Who are these cretins kidding? A 40 hour work week? What is this, France? The next thing you know, they’ll be pushing for a 5 day work week.

Anybody who thinks they will ever get any further in this business without pushing the clock a little further is just ignorant and/or mentally deficient.

I never realized that AIG had enough slackers to fill this kind of a class-action lawsuit. Or maybe it’s just some lazy moronic lawyer hooking up with two bozos and looking for yet another way of spanking a giant on behalf of, oh yeah, “the little people”.

Lilliputians beware – don’t send me your resumes after AIG cans your keesters. I only want folks who aren’t afraid of going beyond the call – and that holds for CSR’s, too, not just the execs or professionals. Show me you Got Game and I’ll show you the money.

And by the way – if you are an adjuster working for me, I WILL hold you to “professional employee” standards.

Grow, or Go. Innovate or Get Out of the Way. Get Paid While you develop.

AIG would not classify clerical support personnel as adjusters. If they are adjusters they are exempt. There are a lot of issues with AIG but one of the best operations inside that company is their Human Resource Department (and their Training Department). I worked in claims with them for years. You know if you’re clerical and you know if you’re an adjuster. I do not believe these complaints will not be validated.

I have never seen AIG credited with the fact that when the riots occurred in Los Angeles they tracked down each and every employee to make sure they were okay…
When we had the Northridge Earthquake AIG assisted employees who lost houses financially and emotionally…
I have never seen AIG credited with any efforts for their employees in National Disasters but I’ve seen them in action. This is a company that has expectations of their employees but they are also there for the employees when a disaster strikes. Some people just want to be negative regardless. If someone doesn’t feel a company is treating them right they need to resign and move on. I left AIG because I did not like the travel required of me but I still respect that company and appreciate the opportunities they gave to me.

I did a seven year tour at AIG in its auto sales department; claims, customer service, and mail quote services. I can say hands down, this is typical AIG. They would nickel and Dime you every way they could. They would hold back outs (i.e. sales that the check bounced on) until the last minute and then apply them (with out you knowing) and that would lower your pay out level. When they made schedule changes they MADE us sign a form stating we VOLUNTEERED to change shifts. If you didn’t sign, you didn’t have a job. So mom’s who where on a steady schedule with day care got their lives messed up for a while amongst other people who worked those shifts b/c they are not morning people.

the call center can route certain states (ie competitive states) to their favorite reps, and god forbid any Insurance Commissioner type person listen to some of the shady calls. “Let me reach into my bag of tricks” one rep that sat near me used to say as he dropped someone’s BI down from 100/300 to 15/30…and sold the policy! And believe me, thats not even scratching the surface.

I didn’t make money there b/c I was to ethical. I couldn’t ignore the comp claims people told me about which they rate for on new business.

I’ve been out of AIG for a while now and I would go work at McDonalds before I would go back there!

I bet you every employee they tracked down after the riots made a lot more than $30K a year.

Sorry but if you work overtime hours and you did not get paid for them(knowing that you should) then that is your fault.

& Gedda Leif…I respect your work ethic but make sure you maintain a balance between work & life. People work themselves to death before getting a chance to enjoy retirement.
