Did anyone else notice this line:

“The hearing comes as manufacturers and retailers scramble to restore public confidence in the safety of toys made in the United States _ particularly those made in China _ as the busy holiday season approaches”

The safety of toys made in the U.S. – particularly those made in China? Since when is China part of the U.S. We have faith in U.S. made toys, not Chinese made toys. Get a globe people.

Perhaps this statement – indicating China is a state – was made by someone who attended the same public school that the Miss Teen USA contestant went to. In her answer to why so many US kids couldn’t find places on a map she rambled on about how we need to send maps to US citizens in South Africa.
