My cat works out regularly, thank you very much.

She practices her yoga at every opportune moment. Her favorite position is downward cat. She demonstrates her flexibility by bending over and licking her behind. Apparently, she believes this is an impressive talent which should be shared with everyone who visits the house…

It’s a lovely sight to behold. NOT.

Try steaming some green beans and use these as rewards or treats for your dog.
We adopted a stray German Shepherd who was severely malnourished. We fed her amply and she gained 30 pounds, about five pounds too many. Instead of rewarding her with cheese and other fatty snax we switched to one or two green beans and she has lost five pounds over the summer.

My cats took the same class! I just wish they were taught to do the licking in private….not the sight I want to see when I’m eating dinner.
Another good exercise for pets is having them use the stairs as a speedway while you are trying to use them!

Raw carrots are another good choice. My aunt’s dog used to dig them up out of her garden.
