How typical for government-to require (under threat of violence, theft, or coercion) what should be private businesses to provide soemthing that they might not want to-in this case terrorism insurance. Gee, I’m sure happy that we live in the land of the free!

The insurance companies have asked the federal government to provide terrorism reinsurance. In return, the government is requiring the companies to provide the primary coverage. Since the companies are not paying reinsurance premiums to the government, how exactly is this legislation unfair? If the companies don’t want to provide the coverage, they should ask Congress to let the law sunset.
