I’ve developed and presented sexual harassment training for years and it’s the best way, along with a policy against harassment, to bulletproof your organization from suit. We don’t hear about as many suits as we did when it first became an issue and hence training has slowed down. It is still a huge liability and training can help put parameters on acceptable behavior. Truly, some people have no idea that what they do or say is harassment. Training is not that expensive and if it avoids one claim and the costs in terms of defense and bad publicity, it’s a great return on investment.

Ive had a serious problem with sexual harrassment over my career. People think that just becasue I might have a nice figure that I should be hollered at.

I like wearing nice clothing that shows off my curves, but that doesnt mean that Im asking for it. I just like the attention.

The statement that, in 2005, California became the first state to enact a mandatory sexual harassment prevention training law is incorrect. Connecticut has had a similar law since 1991, and I believe several other states either require or strongly recommend such training. Also, I believe the California law has been around longer than 2005. Check your facts!
