Fred, I\’m sure one of your fellow wingers will answer your silly question soon enough.

Ya know, when my day is slow, and I need a pick me up, I either read my George W. Bushisms calendar or the Insurance Jouranl comment threads.

    You right-wingers never disappoint.

To all the people out there that suggest people in FL just move…blah, blah, blah…I would like to know where there is a place in this country where we will not be affected by anything.

    Linda-

Try Rosie\’s house. :) She seems to be sheltered from everything- including sanity.

    Rob,

Most people never fail to disappoint. That includes you. :) Oh, and me too. All right!

    Happy Friday!

what he fails to mention is that his 300000 home is only 1200 square feet and all the other taxes kill you.

you asked where you would not be affected by anything. Try the central valley of California. We are 45 miles south of Fresno, 60 miles north of Bakersfield, 220 miles north of LaLa Land, 175 miles south of weirdo land and in the most fertile farming community on earth(no exaggeration). There are no earthquakes( the San Andreas Fault is 45 miles west of us), no tornadoes, no hurricanes, no extreme weather conditions, and a conservative life style. Property taxes are low($1200.00 yr). Homeowners insurance on $300,000 home-$800.00/yr. We have churches for EVERYONE, muslims included and a live and let live attitude. I do regard myself as extremely lucky. I cannot fathom living under the conditions some of you seem to be living. I really think Rosie is your hero as she seems to personify your frustrations.
Just my thoughts. I will close my office in another hour and a half and will not even think about making a living until Monday. Life is good but only if you make it good for you.

Don\’t be a killjoy. It is so rare and wonderfull to see a happy post. Life is VERY good in Florida, just before the hurricane hits. After that we will find Crist\’s hand in our pockets.

You are close to correct. Our home is a 1420 sq. ft, 4 br, 3 bath located in a cul-de-sac in a middle class area of town. Great schools, low crime and great neighbors. Our 1425 sq ft house was home to a wonderful gathering of our children and grandchildren who came to celebrate Mothers Day with us. It was crowded, with 2 of our children, their husbands and 4 of our 8 grandchildren but I do not believe anyone felt the house was too small. Our grandchildren took naps in the same room their mothers slept in and I do not believe anyone complained about how small our 1420 sq ft home. I shopped and paid taxes on our purchases and did not give it a second thought. Our nephew, who is a policeman, could not be there and I did not give it a thought that he was paid double time for his efforts out of my taxes. Our home does not have a white picket fence but it is a home. It is not a mansion that everyone is impressed with but it is paid for and we are happy. Did you know that it costs less to keep up a 1420 sq ft home than is does to keep up a 3400 sq ft home? I pay my taxes because I know this is the price I must pay for the way of life I have and I do so gladly. Maybe a change in priorities would be helpful for you, William, because you seem to be unhappy and I feel sorry for you.
