Punxsutawney Phil does a much better job of forecasting and he\’s not on the government dole. Fire these morons. Make them go out and get a real job.

I think this was the same prediction as last year, and we know how active it was last year.

    Hey Rosie,

THey made this prediction last year that another Katrina was to wipe out New Orleans but I have to ask you an honest question without any politics behind it.

How many hurricanes made landfall in the US last year?

I\’ll even help you out, NONE. Just cut and paste the letters in capital (that means big letters) to your response.

The insurance journal runs with this stuff because they take marching orders from Al Gore. In the mean time, Al Gore continues to fly in his own private jet (he is too good to fly with everyone else)and continues to laugh at his followers.

The last year did turn out 180 off the prediction as already stated here, and the weather forecaster here cannot even predict rain on time anyway. As dry as it has been, this takes the moisture out of the atmosphere and you end up with no momentum for a heavy storm.
In any event, we will all drown from the melting icebergs and the Ozone hole over Antartica. Ask AL.

Hell they run this **** so that the insurance companies can justify raising rates.

so far, rates have been dropping except for the cat markets. Perhaps more premium volumne = more advertising dollars for the IJ. One sided reporting only only discredits a publication. I would hope that the the publication is called the Insurance Journal and not the Insurance Urinal!

\”Customers of State Farm Florida will see their homeowner\’s rates drop by about 7 percent on average statewide starting this summer because of a new law that makes more state backup coverage available to insurers. Bloomington, Ill.-based State Farm filed for the decreased rate Thursday. Premium reductions will vary widely, from as low as about 1 percent for some customers to as much as 10 percent for others, depending on where they live and what type of home they\’re insuring. While wind coverage rates are expected to drop by nearly 25 percent statewide on average, State Farm has said all along that its rates wouldn\’t go down as much because its backup coverage was already cheaper than what many other companies pay. State Farm buys most of its reinsurance from its own parent company, saving money over what it would cost to buy it from other reinsurers.\”- Lakeland Ledger

I am sure they are raising rates in certain areas. But, if you read the above article they are lowering rates in others. If only they could strike a happy medium, huh?
