And you all know from whose pockets that money will come.

For $20 million I would take a heart attach almost any day.

At this rate the lawyers (and I wonder how much the lawyers took from this one) are going to drive a lot of good companies out of business on BS high-dollar suits.

And what about that jury, folks? Where is their sense of proportion.

The jury HAS no sense of proportion. Or of how much the attorneys get. They are just mad at Merck.

The jury were the ones asked to put a price on it and they did. Merck\’s behavior has been beyond the pale, criminal. Time to face the music.

Hey, I got one crazy idea–how about lower bonuses for the Merck bonus boys?

$20 million for a heart attack–you can make that trade if you\’re that naive about life after a myocardal infarction. Tal to some survivors. Eat right. Exercise. it.

Again, the usual suspects…attacking the lawyers and attacking the average citizens that were on the jury. You say 20MM is too much…how much money did Merck make selling this drug????

And for you people that don\’t have faith in the jury system…move to another country! I am so tired of you people whining about jury judgements. We have the best legal system in the world. The jury system is as fundamental to our country as the Bill of Rights! Maybe you ought to take a lessons in Patriotism.

This is capitalism at its best. If you manufacture a dangerous product and people get hurt, guess what, you pay! End of story. That\’s how it works. The free market tells us that if you don\’t provide the best product, you will lose money by both the courts and the loss in profits from the consumer not purchasing it.

Stop blaming the victim and start supporting your fellow Americans.

This guy has a heart attack and gets $47.5 million, yet all my insurer gave me for a car wreck that nearly killed me was $325,000. I\’m pretty amazed at the difference… And I had a 2.3 mil UIM limit…

GO Merck. Keep fighting and continue your appeals. Hopefully the sheep that fills the jury will one day wake up.

I took Vioxx for more then 19 months really more then that The Dr. I was seeing gave me free samples Plus a prescription for it the Pharmacy records show I took it .I did have a heart attack and a 5 way bi-pass a few months latter I saw my Dr. and I told him that I just didn\’t feel well. He did a stress test and I had to have 3 stents put in also.I was 48 at that time I am now almost 54 .I am limited on what I can do. Iam involved in a class action here in Ca. It put a hardship on my Wife and my 3 kids I lost the job I had and so did my wife !We areor were a Property management team Vioxx uprotted my entire Family .Merck in my opinion on what has been uncovered they were awhare of the problems way before they decided to take it off the Market. The after affects of all is that I have to be on some really costly Medacations . that take away from my limited income .I have to look at every day now as a gift. There are for the fortunate ones that took Vioxx a lot of after afects. There is also it seemed to me also once someone has had coranary problems that most medical insurances don\’t want to even carry a person it is like a uninscrable DEATH sentence !Most that are not in my shoes don\’t even think of all the aftereffects . I just hope I will live long enough to see this Pharmacedical Monster . Treat all of us that trusted there Products.I am greatful that I just celabrated 19 years of soberity .One Day At a time !
