PCI Appoints Kate Prible to Lobbying Position

The Property Casualty Insurers Association of America (PCI) has expanded its federal advocacy capabilities by hiring Kate Prible as director, federal government affairs, effective March 5.

Prible comes to PCI after six years as director, federal legislative affairs with the Credit Union National Association (CUNA). Previously, she worked in the House of Representatives for almost three years, serving Rep. Shelley Berkley, D-Nevada, and then-Rep. John LaFalce, D-N.Y.

In her time at CUNA, Prible engaged in direct legislative advocacy with members of the House Financial Services Committee and the Senate Banking Committee on issues involving regulation, data security and small business and Hurricane Katrina relief efforts for credit unions, among others. Prible was instrumental in preparing testimony for hearings, briefing witnesses and working with Congressional staff. Additionally, she traveled to state association conferences to brief members on key legislative issues and represented CUNA at various conferences, fundraisers and other political events.

“This is a critical time for the industry and for PCI, and we are very pleased to add a seasoned, effective lobbyist like Kate to our staff,” says Ben McKay, PCI’s senior vice president, federal government affairs. “Kate has a proven track record of successful outreach to legislators and their staffers, and her experience with the House Financial Services Committee and Senate Banking Committee will help us fight back against the multiple attacks we now face as an industry. We’re tremendously happy to have Kate join our team.”

Prible earned a master’s degree in political management from George Washington University in 2000 and a bachelor’s degree in politics from Ithaca College, Ithaca, N.Y., in 1997.
