After decades of ads showing a bored, sleeping Maytag repairman, Whirlpool decides to buy them out and now look what happened!! Were these machines made in the US? Probably not! Just shows how sick the global economy is: cheap overseas labor is not the answer: quality control IS.

Actually, I think these are made in Indiana. But I may be wrong about that. Anyways, I have one of those dishwashers that needs to be recalled. I found about it on Sat nite and knew it wouldn\’t do any good to call right away. So I will call in a few days. I don\’t know, they sell 2.3 million of these and just a little over 100 have problems in 6-10 years, sounds like an overreaction to me. I am not unplugging mine, but then again, maybe I should so my wife won\’t be so spoiled.

I had a Maytag gas oven to catch on fire, the insurance company replaced it with another faulty Maytag gas oven, (it always shuts down after a certain temperature when you set it on broil), and my Amana (Maytag)frig, side by side has so many complaints, it\’s got it\’s own web site, is not working…Glad I got a G.E. diswasher!!!!!

Re the sexist comment about unplugging your dishwasher so your wife won\’t be so spoiled: Being married to a man who makes comments like this is probably no picnic for her, either! You sound like Arnold Schwartzenegger!

Yea, I tend to agree, my wife works hard, and is more likely to pull a 10 hour day than me, but last year when our dish washer broke down, she was still doing the dishes after a long day at work. I thought that was nice of her. I just sat back and watched hockey. By the time she finished her household chores by the end of the evening she was too tired for small talk.

We really got along better than ever and I look back on that time fondly. I value our conversations but its selfish of her to think I need to know about every little detail that happens in her life about work and the kids.

I\’ll have you know I treat my wife very well. I buy her nice things all the time. In fact, for Valentine\’s Day I am getting her a new Dyson vaccuum cleaner so she doesn\’t have to worry about replacing those dirty vaccuum bags anymore.

You should buy her a Rainbow vacuum, those blow Dyson out of the water.

And, Amana is their low end brand, you should have paid full price if you wanted quality.
