How come no one ever mentions the subchapter \”s\” corporations that Edwards, Kennedy, Reid, etc. set-up to hide their millions from taxes. Yes, Vlad, you are right, this is just a tax increase on everyone. Can\’t wait to hear Hillary\’s plan!!

I just love the irrationality of all your posts regarding how \”oh, no, my taxes will go up.\” or prices will sky-rocket. Boo-hoo. If it\’s good for all the people (the poor especially), then you should lose a little of your selfishness, and gain a little compassion.

Enacting universal health care coverage does not mean we\’re going socialist or communist.

What it does is follow the mantra that we are only as rich a country as our poorest are, not our wealthiest. If the quality of life improves for those that are the worst off (in this case, the sickest), then that should be a good thing, not the supposed end of your world.

Have Democrats ever run for office on a platform of putting money in people\’s pockets? Of not spending OUR money? Increasing the opportunity for the everyday workers they love so much to keep the money they earn.

They are the ultimate one trick pony. Promise to spend BILLION\’s of other people\’s money to buy the votes of the ignorant, who end up paying the price anyway. Where do they think business will come up with the money to pay for insurance? Plan on massive layoffs and increased prices to pay for this \”entitlement program\”.

Free markets have a way to fix this \”problem\”. If you desire insurance provided by your employer, seek out a like minded employer. If everyone (universal coverage) had that desire, business would be forced to offer insurance to employees or close their doors.

Edwards wants it to be a \”requirement\” that everyone have insurance. How\’s that for the government making decisions for you. Very comforting.

Signs at wildlife preserves warn against feeing the animals because they become dependent on handouts. 40+ years of Democrat rule in New Orleans proves the same thing for humans. Self reliant folks do not need the government to lead healthy successful lives.

What a perfect concept. I can hardly wait to lay off one of my folks so that I can pay for health insurance for the remainder. Then when I file my taxes, I\’ll be able to sleep better at night knowing that the employee I had to lay off still received UNIVERSAL health insurance through the taxes I pay. On top of all of this, I will be able to look forward to the reversal of our now low unemployment ranks as more folks get laid off from their current employer so he/she can pay for health insurance for the remainder of their employees. That\’s awesome, not to mention how I\’ll benefit from higher inflation as our country slips into a huge recession. Wow, more of my clients will have even less discretionary income to purchase that umbrella policy to cover their butts from ambulance chasing attornies. How can this not be a win win scenario for Joe public. It is going to be a great victory for the Edwards/Hillary/Pelosi camp when they are finally able to sink this great nation into a depresion. Don\’t worry about these great and couragous American wanna be leaders, no matter how they try to steal our money, I\’m sure they put provisions into the tax code that exempts them from having to participate in this universal plan for the little guy. You know they are just too smart and sophisticated to need our little plan. Thank God somebody has the wisdom to make my health care decisions for my family and I. Thank you Mr. Edwards, I don\’t know how I survived without you for all of these years. Oh, I didn\’t even mention how much fun my family and I will have waiting in the nice lobbies of our health care providers office\’s for our annual checkups. Thank you Mr. Edwards for thinking about the great family bonding we will experience as we wait even longer to see our family doctor. What a great way to bring our family closer. Seems like he\’s thought of everything. I think we should all send our checkbooks to the Edwards camp. If they feel we need anything, I\’m confident that they send us a little something back. Let them balance my accounts, pay my mortgage, utilities, and car payments. They certainly should be able to do a better job of it than I.

    Thanks, Can\’t wait to vote.

    Swede,

Since when does your feel good bumper sticker mantra make good public policy?

It is Socialism, regardless of your opinion, or attempt to rename it. I suppose you are a progressive – not a liberal.

The point is to get insurance out of health care. United Health Care stock options? Blue Cross becoming a for profit company? These are just greedy, crooked people getting richer by denying coverage to sick people.

Socialism – any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods. So Swede what is it if not Socialism?

Your post was just brilliant. Yes those eviiiiilllll greeeedy, crooooked, & I\’m sure you also meant rich people. My God they could be in the top 1% of wage earners. We can\’t have that!!!!

Thank God for them, the top 1% pay 34.27% of all income taxes. Where do you fit in?
