Like the devistating hurricane season that totally laid waste to Florida and the gulf coast this past year… Oh yeah, it didn\’t happen.

Hey Al, where was global warming this past hurricane season that was supposed to be the worst on record?

Global Warming, lepricons and unicorns. All myths to entertain us….

Can you really BE this ignorant? And what do you suppose caused the Arctic shelf to separate recently? Open your mind (if that\’s possible) and discover the facts for yourself.

Bunny, did you see the artic shelf break yourself. Are you sure this really happened? I saw a movie that was about some kind of Jurassic park. The t-rex\’s sure looked real to me. Unfortunately, I can\’t believe everyting everybody tells me.

It was 70 degrees in NY last week. Is that normal?

Two years ago this month we set a record for the most consecutive days under 10 deg F (25). Is that normal or is that due to Global WARMING too????

And for Bunny, how many SUVs did it take to melt the last ice age or do you dismiss the accounts of an ice sheet covering nearly the entirety of North America nearly 100,000 years ago.

    Bunny-

Without the snide remarks, I would like to point out that very few people disagree that the world is getting warmer. Some do, and they do have some evidence to support their position.

Let\’s assume that the world is getting warmer. (I do) The question then becomes \”Why?\”. There is a great deal of evidence to support the idea that it is a natural occurence, and that mankind has contributed to it in an infinitesinal way, if at all.

I personally believe that. As other posters have stated (rudely) the ice has been retreating for millennia, well before humanity was a significant force on the planet, and extremely well before the industrial revolution.

My question is this- if humanity is basically contributing to 1% of the global warming problem, why should I have to be subject to draconian laws? If it\’s going to happen anyway, how come I\’m being punished for it?

And please don\’t insinuate that because my position is different from yours that I\’m some sort of ignorant, inhumane fascist. I want my children to inherit a livable world as well.

Al Gore ignored huge bodies of evidence showing that the earth would be warming anyway and that humanity has advanced that process by about a decade.

Apparently those facts were inconvenient to him.

I\’m sorry, but there is no debate in the scientific community that global warming exists. There is not one single example of a pier reviewed document that indicates global warming is a myth. I\’m not sure if people think there\’s a comspiracy in the scientific community or not, but I would ask any person that reads this to provide me with an example (and where I can locate this example) that a qualified individual worte and was reviewed that indicates this.

I\’m really not sure why there is so much resistance to the idea. This is not a new concept. We\’ve been talking about global warming for years. When you talk about natural trends in temperature shifts, we are now in an anomilous (sp?) situation. What exactly is the alterior motive for those who are \”pushing\” this theory? Who doesn\’t want to get better gas mileage, who does not want to have less pollution, who doesn\’t want there to be less health issues associated with pollution…? Did we forget the hole in the ozone layer? We can, though industry damage the planet.

I\’m just thankful that we are moving in a direction that, regardless of the attitudes on this site, to seriously look at this problem and come up with ideas that will correct it. Thankfully, your kind of thinking is in the minority.

Since you want to ride high on your facts, why don\’t you tell me why China and India were exempted from the Kyoto Protocol?

    Mr. Recall,

So, because China and India aren\’t participating in Kyoto, that\’s your proof it doesn\’t exist??? What about the many, many other countries that do? Do you use the official policy of India and China to shape your views. I\’ve seen your posts on \”socialism\”, so I don\’t think that\’s the case.

Again, though, you don\’t have to believe it\’s true. The rest of us can fix it. And, when we have, you can sit back and say, \”see, it was all a myth.\” Ignorance is certainly bliss.
