I have been looking for a LATCH compatible booster seat for my son for over a year now. None I have found have the LATCH capability. Any one have an idea?

I don\’t think booster seats use LATCH. I believe it\’s only on regular baby/toddler seats. Once you go to a booster, it\’s really the seatbelt that\’s protecting the child and the booster seat just positions their body so the seatbelt fits properly across their hips and shoulder.

What we used to do when our kids were little & sat in a booster seat would be to put them in the middle of the back seat where the seat belt is NOT the adjustable or moveable kind & belt them in with the belt. They may be able to tilt forward just like an adult would, but they will remain in their seats.

Actually, I am a parent; one who was responsible enough to learn how to install a child safety seat long before I was a parent.

I knew that I would have to install a child seat at some point and did not want to do it incorrectly if that point happened prior to me learning.

You see, smart people learn things because they know they will have a need for it in the future. Waiting until the needs presents itself is not the ideal time to learn how to do something correctly. Particularly when it involves the safety of a small child.

So I have taken my classes and am giving it a try.
    What\’s your excuse?

I think part of the problem has been displayed right here.

Just to set the record straight so that the natural selection that should effect the parent does not smote your kid; a booster is intended to be used with a normal over the shoulder seatbelt, not just a lap belt.

The booster may or may not hook to the lower anchors on your car seat but there is usually no upper tether, particularly on open back models.

I have seen firsthand several soon-to-be parents who refuse to go to any training classes designed to teach you how to care for a baby; including trivial stuff like how to install a car seat. Perhaps this whole problem could be avoided by testing potential parents BEFORE allowing them to indiscriminatly procreate when they are not smart enough to use a seat belt properly.

Once appropriate training has been successfully completed, only then may they have the responsibility of caring for a defenseless child who has no choice but to rely on the common sense (or lack thereof) of their parents.

It is truly amazing that you can create and take home a baby with no training of any kind, yet you need a license to fish.

Your comments/admonishments in your post seem to indicate that you are not a parent yourself. Take your classes, give it a try and then see if your tune changes!
