This one is tough to respond to. I understand Ebersol\’s grief and bitterness. Subing out to another operator is done all the time in all types of transportation. Limo operators who are out of limos. Boat operators even airlines. I was ticketed on an Amr Airlines flight when after a lond delay they pulled a World Airways DC10 out of a hangar that had so much dirt on it that it looked like it hadn\’t been flown in years. I\’m that wasn\’t the case but a lot of people declined to get on board.

The bottom line is the charter industry is regulated and like all the others there is room for more. But at the end of the day you can\’t have fed watching each plane each pilot each mechanic.

It\’s not as loose as it\’s made to sound.

Charter flights are for those with money who don\’t want or can\’t wait for airlines or want their privacy. They also want the best safety record which is why many use charter as they feel safer then with the public airlines.

Having the primary operator disclose that they subed out won\’t change much as the booking would ask the primary if the sub is a good company and the answer of course is yes.
