    Well don\’t blame the Democrats!
The Texas mold problem and the Louisiana levees being destroyed all happened on Bush & Cheney\’s watch not Bill & Hilary.
The reason Democrats blame the Republicans for most all of the world\’s problems is simple – terrorism, mold, floods, sunamis, global warming all happened under Bush & Co\’s watch. The current administration knows nothing about world history and is doomed to make more mistakes. They like to compare the Middle East mess they created to WWII. Hogwash from Republicans. In WWII the Germans, Italians, and Japs attacked one of the 50 United States. When Hillary is President we will ge some good comprehensive insurance products at lower prices on the internet.

I have two thoughts for the insurance companies.
    1) Hello…Louisiana? Play with fire and you get burnt.
    2) What are you waiting for? Get out…NOW!

Well, Sweetie, I would think if you were a Nancy Pilozi supporter, you would be able to spell her name correctly. I may be a Democrat but that doesn\’t mean I automatically go along with the more extreme left wingers of the party. As far as Hillary, we all saw what happened when she tried to take care of the National Health Care problem…… Being a woman, I am more concerned about professed Republican women. Almost a contradiction in terms…

So insurance companies can go back against the builder for defective workmanship which won\’t be covered by their policy which may go to products and materials so let\’s just get the ball rolling. More business for the lawyers with one on every corner. Property carriers may need to look at taking Homeowner back to the old Fire Policy and let them pay for anything extra that is covered.

Water damage caused by flooding is excluded regardless of cause. If these insureds didn\’t buy the coverage needed for the area that they live in the courts should not attempt to bail them out. By this point I\’m sure that 99% of homeowners in this country are aware that flooding is not covered on a normal homeowners policy. If there contention is that the levees were built improperly then their case is against the Federal government, not insurers. If the government was smart they wouldn\’t let people build in areas that they should not be living. If you are living 30 feet below sea level I don\’t care what you\’ve built to stop it, the water will come. It\’s just a matter of time.

The system is a joke, for all the money that is involved, why cant the Insurance CO have the courts look at the policies BEFORE there are billions in losses? Then the Ins. Co. can articulate the fact that they do not want to sell a contract that covers flood in any way, and alter the contract to the liking of the courts be they ever sell any polices.

Its such a back asswerd system that you could issue an \”airtight\” policy only to find out years later that you are covering a peril without getting a premium for it.

This goes againt common sense and is actually BAD public policy from a National economic standpoint. What a joke.

Don\’t worry just yet. The appeal of this ruling will probably be filed before lunch.

It will probably prompt a few insurers to make a reserve change, which could hurt our 2006 financials but it I am certain it will be returned in 2007.

I have yet to see an exclusion stand up to a castastrophic uninsured loss which affects thousands of people,(ie Houston). The more folks who are uninsured, the more holes the courts seem to find in the policies. Unfortunately, your probably right about the fire policy.

Couldn\’t it then be argued that nearly every flood in history was \”man made\” because man might have cleared the forests, paved roadways and parking lots, somehow altered the natural landscape? What BS!
