Lay\’s conviction was reversed not \”after\” he died but soley BECAUSE he died. The law says it must be reversed because his death prevented him from pursuing all his appeals.

And so the relatives of this crook get a pile of money that instead should go to Enron victims. How nice that Bush and company delayed action against Enron so long so Lay could live out the remaining many years of his life in freedom and relative prosperity (although he warned us sternly that you couldn\’t just turn his lifestyle off like a spigot.)\” Pay back for those Bush campaigning flights in the Enron corporate jet with \”Kenny boy.\”

Those thousands of us with ruined futures can only take comfort in Skilling\’s 24 years of slammer time. Let\’s see if he can buy some more justice–he might still wiggle free.

Oh, well, gotta go, late for my shift as a greeter at Walmart…at least they take on some seniors, part time, no benefits, near minimum wage..no fancy clothes needed, and I can pick up my $4 generic prescriptions…

Thanks, Kenny Boy. Thanks also Jeff \”smarter than everyone else\” Skilling. Good Christian family values. Nothing like accountability to close the books fairly.

    Another glaring liberal response…

Clue one: Bush and company delayed…
Yes, President Bush, mainly Karl Rove, knew EXACTLY when this crook would dye so they delayed the trial.

Clue two: late for my shift as a greeter for WALMART.
Come on, could you be a bit more creative than this?

Nice try to \”tug on the heart strings\”, but you may want to try a different set of talking points than the ones provided by George Sorros…

Clue #3: the only people \”ruined\” by Enron were those living high off the hog from it (i.e., employees and contractors). Everyone else should have had a diversified portfolio. Any more than 10% in a single company would have been moronic.

Unless, of course, you were involved in a high-stakes leverage scheme.

Isn\’t there some saying about \”not being able to cheat an honest man?\” It certainly seems it would apply here.

Talk about being harsh. Give these Enron employees a break. They have a right to be bitter. I bet you\’d be talking out the other side of your mouth if you were a 75 year old Enron retiree whose retirement funds are now worth next to nothing.

Why would the life insurance pay out anyway? It was a suicide, and the family burned the body before it could be tested for the chemical that stopped his heart.

Not only did Bush delay the trial so Lay had time to die, he probably provided the secret poison so Lay could commit suicide and not go to prison, where Lay could have paid all that money back he swindled while making license plates. This all makes sense now; it was a nifty scheme so Wal-Mart could get experience labor on the cheap! They keep saying this Bush fella is not smart, but he must be smarter than those guys in Iraq, because he\’s not there, and look how crafty he is! Golly, he might be smart after all! I\’m not sure why I should dislike him: is he dumb, or is he deceitful, or is it because there\’s allot of sore losers out there?

Suicide only voids life contracts if the suicide is within the first 2 years of the contract.
