On my less serious moments, I wonder if \”threats\” like this are merely pranks to see how much they can disrupt our normal ways of living.

I can see them sitting in their mud hut somewhere laughing at the reports of all westerners now being subjected to the results of their previous attacks/threats:

    1) Random searches before boarding a plane, no sharp obects allowed.

    2) Remove those shoes, they could be like the shoe bomber.

    3) Throw away those lighters, see above.

    4) Now, throw away all liquids or force all travelers to check their bags to allow them to carry liquids.

    5) In the UK, no electronic carry-ons. Imagine the laptops destroyed by the luggage crew and/or lost on baggage carousels, not to mention the lost productivity of those on-board.

    6) Get rid of those books too. You will sit quietly on the aircraft and not complain, regardless of the length of the flight.

    Somewhere, Allah is ROFL.

No matter what you are wondering… The fact that arrests were made & ties are found to link those that were making the preperations to attempt the destruction, you have to know that the tip that was given to the authorities came from inside the Muslim community. I am in no way supportive of their beliefs, but I do respect that the person providing the tip, for whatever reason, was stirred to do so from within themself. If Allah is really ROFL – good, because the families of so many that could have been affected by the alleged attack are not falling to the floor crying! I thank God!!!

What makes you think a \”tip\” came from someone in the Muslim community? That\’s not necessarily the way this thing was discovered. I, too, think many people are ROFL about all the havoc they have created. They say jump and we say \”how high\” – oh, not high enough? How about this. I\’m grateful this plot was discovered, but we don\’t have to go overboard assuming every traveler is a terrorist. There\’s got to be a better way.

I\’d rather err on the side of safety presently while they try to come up with a better way to screen passengers. Air Travel has been a pain for years and years now. In this case, it appears arrests were made. In the past, we\’ve just had veiled threats. And that\’s where I agree the game is played. \”Lets drop a few hints and watch them spend all their money\”. Cheapest form of terror there is!
