Travelers ‘CD’ Targets Risk Control for Tech Firms

July 21, 2006

Travelers has created a new CD, “The Best of Technology Risk Control,” to assist technology businesses seeking information on topics such as business continuity, workers’ compensation and manufacturing safety.

The two-disc set was developed to help small technology businesses deal with issues such as property protection, employee safety, reducing liability exposures and creating business continuity plans. The risk control CD contains 120 of the most requested risk control information guides on topics pertaining to the information technology, medical technology, telecommunications and electronics manufacturing industries. The business continuity CD features six worksheets for policyholders to use to determine the potential losses to their business in the event of a natural or a manmade disaster.

“We realize that small business owners wear many hats – one of which is safety — and they want to access information quickly and easily and this CD set allows them to do that,” said Bob Gazdik, national director-risk control, Global Technology Underwriting. “Our goal is to be in-synch with our customer’s needs so as their business grows, we’ll be able to provide them with the services and programs they need when they need them.”

Besides the risk control information guides, the CDs will provide policyholders with links to the Report a Claim Web site, the Risk Control Web site and the Technology page of Travelers Web site. In addition, policyholders can sign up to receive risk control newsletters.

The CD set will be mailed to customers and agents on a quarterly basis to coincide with policy renewals. Information on the CDs will be updated regularly.
