So they studied five British responses to Irish terrorist attacks and think that they have found a pattern – deterrance makes terrorists defiant?

Maybe we should try footrubs for terrorists to see if that doesn\’t make them less defiant.

Would these pinheads agree that the efforts that we have employed thus far have prevented attacks in the US since 9/11?

Based on the comments in the article, it seems the conclusion was made prior to the study being done. The study does not seem to have scientific basis in that the instances were selected to provide the result they were looking for. They also did not provide or study any alternative method to see if that would provide better results.

Would ignoring attacks prevent future attacks? I would love to see that study.

Making a comparison between the conflict in Northern Ireland and the world wide trans national Jihad against the Western world is absolute nonsense…

Radical Muslims are fighting what they believe is a Holy War against non-believers…unfortunately there is only one approach in dealing with the Jihad and that is strength, force, dedication and determination. This is not the time for passive political correctness…it is the time for action.

If we were to adopt the position suggested by the authors of the study we will never act to defend ourselves in fear of subsequent terroristic actions. The Western world needs to stand up and aggressively deal with terrorists.

Perhaps international unity is the best deterrence against terrorism? What do you think?

Yo Jim, if what you say is true, how come these supposed sleeper cells the White House has been warning us about cant even seem to explode one little suicide bomb at a Walmart? What are they waiting for? Its easy to get the supplies for a little bomb in the US. Do they even exist, its been 5 years sinse 911 and nothing.
