Let those who ride decide. I live in Colorado, I ride, and I never even go to the store without my helmet. When will the boy in the bubble lobby in this country realize you can\’t legislate safety it is a choice. I have a buddy who owns a crotch rocket, he never goes anywhere without a helmet, unfortunatly he never goes anywhere under 80 mph either! My point is safety on a motorcycle has nothing to do with a helmet, and everything to do with attitude. You can\’t legislate an attitude. Get a life and mind your own business.
I ride every day and always wear a helmet and protective clothing (have to wear a helmet here in the uk) and am in agreement with mandatory safety helmets.
Without a helmet what could be a minor accident often beoomes a major incident because of unnecessary head injuries and it dosen\’t matter if a car driver is to blame, it is always the biker who comes off worst!

I agree with Biker Bob. The statistics only give part of the story. It doesn\’t show who was at fault (car vs mc) & in many cases, a helmet would not have made a difference. There is no mention of riders killed or paralyzed by the helmet snapping their neck. Or riders impaired by reduced hearing/vision & increased fatigue due to the wind pulling on the extra 3 lbs strapped to their head. They only publise the part of the story that serves their case. Educate motorists & cyclists & let those who ride decide!!!
