Dear Everybody (we omit the divisive and exclusionary \”else\”):

When[]ever I hear the same old right wing diatribe start up, I know the discussion rarely gets beyond bumper sticker pholosophy and pop song lyrics. \”Clinton lied; yada yada\”. All of our \”leaders\” have strayed so far from Madison & Jefferson, they\’re nothing more than street names today. But Right Wingnuts have perfected it to a science under Rove. Marginalize a significant portion of the electorate by convincing them they are helpless and will suffer at the hands of the \”others\” without your protection. This and some creative voting techniques (as in Florida and Ohio) ensures your election to power. Now you tell the \”others\” that you can keep the first group out of their hair by $upporting you (money)(Republican PACs a la Tom Delay) and doing business your way (more money)(Abramoff). With any luck, those in the middle will be so distracted, they will not form sufficient numbers to throw the rascals out. This has worked well for Carl Rove and company and Hitler; and his party\’s name was an acronym for National Socialism.

Simple polarized though is not going to make it, pal. Your accusations fit the people you are defending more than the ones you are attacking. Your remarks are nothig but cliche after cliche. Think for yourself or Rove will be happy to do it for you. It looks like he already is…

Wisconsin solved the problem and will soon be constructing toll booths for vehicles with Illinois license plates ONLY, one for every 5 miles on every $#@!*&^@* road in our state, both ways too. It will be a single lane, correct change only, and with no \”speedy-pass\” option as well. And no, we will never plow off the snow, nor salt it either! In fact, Wisconsin will also use the toll lanes to collect all our road kill as well. I suggest other neighboring states do the same until Illinois gets it\’s head out of it\’s rear-end. Take that, Bear fans!

Since your approach has worked so well in Cuba, perhaps you can go help the Hugo Chavez get it right.

The original article printed the percentage of state highway accidents that ocurred at toll booths. What are the actuarial projections for insurance loss when a state introduces toll booths based on current insurance claim experience? A percentage of an unknown quantity has no value and if the quantity is known, that too has no value unless it can be expressed in terms such as statistics for death, injury by severity and car damage by dollar cost.

If these statistics are available, how can I get them?

    Herb
