Apparently this doctor teaches his children the easy way to earn money, give it to them out of his wallet. I cut grass to earn income from the time I was 13 and never had an accident.

Maybe the solution to reduce accidents is to keep the kids locked up in the shopping mall spending mom and dad\’s money rather than earning it themselves.

Remember, someone is going to have to cut the grass whe we throw out the 11m demonstrating illegals.

    Great advice doctor.

It always helps too to have an Older uncle showing you his three missing fingers when you are 10 years old and saying it happened using a lawnmower. It certainly makes you appreciate the power these things have.

I learned the same lesson at any early age with a similar story. My uncle had a neighbor kid mowing his lawn one summer. One day the young boy slipped while pushing the mower along a hill by the street….his foot went under the mower and he lost the top third, including all of his toes.

They don\’t need to keep kids from mowing lawns, just stupid people.

Also, I have learned that I do not use time as a factor in mowing my lawn. When someone asks me how long it takes to mow my large backyard, I can truthfully tell them I don\’t know in time, but it usually takes 4 beers. If it is above 90 degrees, then 5 beers.

When I was 10 years old, I mowed 2-3 yards a week and made between $40-$60 per week in the summer. As a 10 year old! My parents loved that, I never got \”allowance money\”. The only injuries I\’ve ever suffered have been from the mower getting stuck and me walking balls first into the handle. Too bad common sense isn\’t common enough, I always wear shatterproof eyeglasses when I mow, and never even think about reaching down near the blade.

If I pay the neighborhood kid to mow my lawn and he slips and his own lawnmower runs him over and chops up his knee so he can\’t walk anymore, can I be successfully sued?

His parents could sue, doesn\’t mean they\’ll win. That\’s why you carry liability insurance, to pay for your defense. If you are negligent, then they\’ll have a good shot at you. If you have a known hole in your hard and he gets in trouble there, it might be shown that you were negligent in fixing this potential problem. On the other hand, I wonder if it could be proven that a homeowner is negligent if a kid slips on wet grass, when you as the adult were supposed to know that would be a hazard. Hmmm…

Especially if you gave him a couple of beers before he started. Then you may be on the hook.
