With one-bedrooms going for $1,500 and with landlords asking for first and last month\’s rent plus a security deposit, getting into an apartment is a $4,500 investment – a tall order for someone waiting tables.

Where are the people that are struggling valiantly to bring this city back alive supposed to live??

I am so sick of hearing about Katrina\’s devastation to New Orleans. Katrina did not devasate N.O., the levy did. This was a manmade disaster, not a natural disaster. That levy broke in the very same place in 1965 and they did a poor job patching it. The levy was never built at the recommended levels because of rigged politics. THE REAL KATRINA DAMAGE IS IN MISSISSIPPI, WHY THE HECK ISN\’T THE NEWS COVERING THAT AREA? More people were killed per capita there. There are still people living in tents and on their front porch in MS. However, there are no people in the 9th Ward N.O. because they are in nice comfy hotels. God help us if we have a terrorist attack.
