AIR in not known for fairness. We already know what they are going to say before they say it. Feel free to ignore them.

sliding, steering, providing false and outdated policies, refusal to provide policies. ordering contractors to throw out insured\’s personal property to prevent them from making claim for them. sending in contractors that leave the home with so many chemicals that the homeowner cannot live in the home. sending checks directly to a lienholder without the insured\’s name on it, stopping ALE before a settlement is made. Telling insured\’s to go live with their family and then refusing to reimburse family for the added expenses. I have hundreds of these… depreciating market value, using one portion of the policy to influence another portion of the policy. refusal to deal with the insured in good faith. thinking that the appraisal process means go get a realestate appraisal. making false statements to the insured that the loss is being investigated for arson when the adjuster knew it was an accidental fire. claiming the insurer doesn\’t owe for a chimney fire and smoke due to an alleged defect that cannot be proven.
    refusing to return correspondence.
I\’ve seen so much just in the last year that it has become outrageous.
Why else would Missouri take the drastic step after tort reform to install a new law that if the insurer is found guilty of fraud that it is an automatic $100,000 fine and/or loss of license of the insurer.

the fraud goes both ways but lately I\’ve seen more insurers guilty that insureds.

Unless someone is down here, there is no way to comprehend the amount of distruction, devestation and hardship. Most everyone I\’ve seen and worked with is doing the best they can under the circumstances . Cheap shots like this do not help.
The BIG question: next year and the year after…….??????????

Cheers to the Louisiana agent for adding a reality check to the article. I wonder what part of \”unprecedented\” the AIR does not understand. I\’m just as sure they have not been ANYWHERE near the devastation to have any first hand knowledge.

with the current trend of massive insurance fraud by insurers it is not at all unforseable to see this type of article.

the lack of training for property claims adjusters is well known in the industry which leads to abusive claims practices nation wide. Why would the gulf see anything different than the rest of the country?

If this were not the case, organization like AIR would not exist.

Do not buy insurance from this company. They routinely reject all claims and ruin people\’s lives.
Learn from the mistakes made by the trusting people in Maryland.
