DKI Sponsors Katrina Relief Drive

September 14, 2005

Disaster Kleenup International Inc., a network of quality, independent property damage restoration contractors, is sponsoring a Hurricane Katrina Relief Drive. This is an effort to provide a means for individuals and companies to donate items to those affected by the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina.

With an increasing number of deaths being reported, Katrina has also left well over a million people homeless and presents relief workers with a situation of unprecedented scale and severity in the U.S. DKI is accepting any items that people are able to offer including: clothes (both new and clean, ready-to-wear used), non-perishable food, toiletries, bottled water, toys, and school supplies.

All donations will go directly to victims of Hurricane Katrina. The drop off location is 611 Busse Rd, Suite 205, Bensenville, Ill. 60106. On a case by case basis, pick-ups can also be arranged by calling 630-350-3000.

“Even for those of us who see disaster on a daily basis as part of our jobs, the immense scale of the devastation from Katrina is beyond rational comprehension,” said Dale Sailer, president of Disaster Kleenup International. “In times like this, it is comforting to see people from across the nation pull together to help those who now have nothing. Our relief drive is just another avenue for individuals to provide their support.”

In addition to DKI’s corporate Hurricane Relief Drive, several DKI member companies have organized humanitarian efforts, some similar to this drive, in their local areas. Over two dozen DKI member companies are also currently in the affected areas and actively participating in the restoration efforts.
