June 9, 2005

Disaster Kleenup International Inc., a network of quality, independent property damage restoration contractors, announced employees from seven DKI member companies earned Certified Restorer (CR) certification at the Association of Specialists in Cleaning and Restoration (ASCR) convention held this past March.

The new CRs are Jeff Bence of United Services DKI in Griffith, Ind; Gerry Burke of Disaster Kleenup Serving Treasure Valley in Nampa, Idaho; Tony Esla of RestoTech in Signal Hill, Calif; John Kray of Compleat Restorations in Ephrata, Pa; Kevin Lahey of Four Star Cleaning & Restoration in Fremont, Calif; Chris Silliman of First Restoration Services in Fletcher, N.C. and Scott Stamper of Regency Construction in Clinton Township, Mich.

The CR certification program only accepts 50 candidates nationally each year. To be awarded the CR certification, candidates are required to have at least three years of active supervision, estimating, and technical experience, attend a disaster restoration seminar, complete a master’s course and examination in restoration, submit a thesis paper and pass an ethics exam based on the National Insurance of Disaster Restoration (NIDR) Code of Ethics and the Certified Restorer Code of Conduct.

There are less than 400 active CR’s in the United States and more than 50 of them are affiliated with Disaster Kleenup International.
