MS/B Web Services Helping Field Data Transfer

April 22, 2005

Marshall and Swift / Boeckh (MS/B), a provider of building cost data and estimating technology to the property insurance industry worldwide, announced the release of its Field Information Transfer (FIT) technology, a new real-time Web-services tool that integrates third-party inspection reports directly into carriers’ MS/B Express sites.

FIT, which also reviews data to validate completeness, correctness and adherence to carrier business rules, provides a real and immediate return on investment after its implementation into a carrier’s workflow.

Through FIT, any field data for claims adjustment or underwriting review can be immediately accessed through a single, online location – a carrier’s Express site, the personalized archive of policyholder information hosted by MS/B on secure Web platforms. The transferable data includes complete property details, photos, and sketches and underwriting information.

In addition to becoming an essential component to speed up business workflow, FIT technology includes a central point of access where users can view detailed records from the Express site and archive data for valuation maintenance and renewal processing. FIT also features secure vendor authentication to prevent file corruption.
