uh , i can’t make it because i am located in a rural area of northeast ohio that is loosing population due to the nafta, gat, and god knows what else. all of us agents are struggling to survive. tried clustering, didn’t work. so here i am fighting to keep what i’ve got,let alone to grow. big cities, and the coasts is where the growth is. so congradulations to the top 100 from the remaining 59,900 of us trying to make a honest living.

I think it is a great idea to recognize the Top 100 Independent Agencys. For those of us who do live in the big city and deal with the heavy work load and long hours. It would be nice to have someone pat us on the back and take notice. Even if we dont make the top 100 list. I think the positive recognition will benefit all Independent Agents who are out there providing a service and who really care about their clients.

is the largest your defimition of the most successful? i would think most profitable (revenue per employee) or some other measure may be more accurate. not a big deal, but just passing along my thoughts.

Recognition like this is good for the industry. I completely agree with the article in that many other industries give prominent accolades to their biggest players. Why should our industry be any different? Also, to the guy struggling in NE Ohio… I was born and raised in Cleveland, saw the writing on the wall, and got the heck out of dodge. It is MUCH easier to make a living in a growth market.

Since when does bigger mean better? I would think all of us in the industry could dispute that just because an agency is bigger doesn’t guarantee it is the best to do business with!

I nominate Omaha Mutual for taking flood insurance money from Marylanders and then refusing to honor the policies.

Boycott this company at all costs.
Ask the people in Maryland still living in trailers.

This thing is a joke because you nominate yourself. There was a “Top 100” agent listed last year that is a well known hack shop that grew to its voluminous girth by leveraging the books of dying geezers, and opening its office to walk-in brokerage like the rest stop on the highway; any one with a P&C license could go there to take their crap.

After seeing this listing ship, who is even spoken about in a derogatory manner by the field reps that call on them, causes this so-called “honor” in my mind to lose its prestige.

What should constitute you being a top agency should not be decided by other agencies, this is something that should be decided by your clients,& how you take care of them

Big Insurance, why don’t you look at this as positive advertising for an industry that people can dislike regularly due to paying money for something they don’t understand and rarely use. If you think this is a joke or if you think your agency is so much better than some in the top 100, nominate your agency. It’s not brain surgery. I bet you sit around crying while everybody else takes big business as well.
