Where are the insiders stealing from policholders and shareholders alike? This stuff is penny-ante compared to management theft and malfeasance.

Where are the mentions of Waraanty Gold and National Warranty Insurance Group who failed and left tens of thousands of consumers without warranty protection on their cars that they had paid big bucks for?

Isn’t this insurance fraud? Much much bigger bucks….

Oh, AIG, Marsh & Mac, etc. etc. didn’t OFFICIALLY concede to any “wrongdoing”, so, unfortunately, they couldn’t be considered for this years hall of shame. Maybe next year…

Point well taken. I guess the Greenburgs aren’t individuals, but a family.

Unfortunatly this does not surprise me. We need to keep up and catch up with all of these frauds. I only wish more companies would fight harder on some of the claims we tell them to look at. Some times I think they find it cheaper to pay the claim then to investigate and take it to court.

Nan — That’s part of the problem, sometimes it IS deemed cheaper/more expedient by some companies to simply pay the claims than to spend the Special Investigative Unit time and money, let alone the costs to prosecute. Not only does this let specific fraud rings continue to rack up the charges, it almost encourages more fraud to pop up. Some states have started severe crackdown initiatives to both stop that trend and perception among would-be fraudsters that this trend will continue.

I’m hoping these initiatives continue, and that they significantly deter future fraud. You can’t stop everyone, of course, but the more someone thinks they’re likely to get caught, the less likely they usually are to commit the crime.

Now give us a list of the insurance companies who rip people off and refuse to honor insurance policies that they collected for?
Consumers should check out the companies being sued for failing to pay off on the Isabel claims in Maryland.
These companies have ruined people’s lives while they smugly refuse to pay people for their coverage.
How about that kind of list?
You might need to weed out a few bad apples there before you point the finger somewhere else.

If this list is only for “2,004 Insurance crooks INDIVIDUALS” ….

What about AIG´s Hank Greenberg, Marsh Mc Lennan´s Jeff Greenberg and Evan Greenberg …? Huge millions robbery…

What about the “Crawford’s ” too:
Jess Crawford and Tom Crawford, who owns more than the 50% of Crawford and Company Atlanta Georgia Adjusting Company?
    More millions robbery also…!

The Crawford’s ( as the Greenbergs before) have also been caught late 2.004 by N.Y. Attorney General Eliot Spitzer on a serious act of fraud against its own shareholders by intentionally misleading information to its NYSE shareholders (CRD-a & CRD-b), in artificially rising its per share price in order to overvalue the value of the company just like WorldCom did years ago.

Particularly on the Crawford’s case…. by making everyone in the market think that Crawford & Company owns 700 offices world wide in 67 overseas countries, while the truth is that they have no real participation at all on most of them….

Crawford Chile was the one that opened the “Pandora Box”.

This EXCUSIVE article has been the “I.J. most popular” in the last 30 days, and is published here by Journalist-Editor Mr. Dave Kaiser (Insurance Journal) can be seen at:

    http://www.claimsguides.com/news/southeast/2004/12/23/49022.htm

    Therefore…:
How come Mr. Jess Crawford (Crawford & Company CFO) and Tom Crawford (Crawford & Company CEO) names be EX-cluded as “INDIVIDUALS” at this Top 10 Insurance Swindlers of 2004…List ?

The answer is very simple my dear…:

People like the Crawford’s and the Greenberg’s write such list, using the peoples money to cover there felonies….!
They use our own money to **** us…!

    William Thompson.
