ISO Makes Alliance with InsightAmerica

December 9, 2004

ISO has entered into an alliance with InsightAmerica, a provider of public-records information, to complement the public-records data available to claims and special investigations personnel through the ISO ClaimSearch system.

ISO will add InsightAmerica’s people-locating information and asset-verification data — such as tax liens, judgment data and real estate ownership information — to the ISO ClaimSearch public-records offering.

ISO ClaimSearch is a comprehensive system — with 400 million claims records — for improving claims processing and fighting insurance fraud. Participating insurers and other organizations submit tens of millions of reports on individual insurance claims.

The ISO ClaimSearch system searches the database to cross-check for information about other claims filed by the same individuals or businesses (either as claimants or insureds). The information identified by the ISO system helps insurers, self-insurers, law enforcement agencies and state fraud bureaus detect and prevent potential fraud and expedite meritorious claims. ISO ClaimSearch also provides customers access to public records, police reports and medical records.

InsightAmerica maintains a wide range of databases from both public and private sources, including property, identity, telephone and other specialized databases that are used to prevent fraud, investigate crimes, litigate court cases and track delinquent debtors.

“We’re extremely pleased that ISO has chosen us to provide information that will enhance the ISO ClaimSearch system,” said Ron Fournet, InsightAmerica’s CEO. “We see a lot of potential in our ability to help insurers with information and technology to fight fraud and handle claims more effectively.”

“ISO and InsightAmerica are a great fit,” added Richard Boehning, president of ISO’s AISG unit. “InsightAmerica’s databases and capabilities can advance our ability to support investigations by providing additional information not found in insurance claims.”

The information becomes available to ISO ClaimSearch customers beginning in January 2005.
