Healthaxis, a provider of fully integrated business process outsourcing claims and administration software solutions and services, has formed an alliance with IntelliClaim, a provider of healthcare claims performance enhancement solutions for healthcare payers.
Healthaxis will offer the IntelliClaim system as an integrated solution for both its claims and administration customers and as an enhanced part of its front-end BPO services. IntelliClaim intends to introduce Healthaxis’ BPO services as a better alternative to current processing methods for suppliers. Both organizations reportedly see the alliance as a way for its respective customers to control the rising cost of healthcare claims.

The companies are already collaborating their sales and marketing efforts, and are in the process of integrating IntelliClaim’s Enhanced Claims Editing service into the Healthaxis Claims Administration Solution. Healthaxis expects that by using the IntelliClaim functionality, its customers can expect to achieve additional medical cost savings for their insured populations. This results from IntelliClaim’s use of advanced rules-based cost containment logic, improving the detection of billing errors and ultimately ensuring that medical care payments are appropriate.
